Six selected duets for 2 Hurdy-Gurdies or Musette de Cour in C major from
Nicholas Chedeville's opus 10 collection entitled 'Les Idee Francoises ou les Delices De Chambray'.
The collection includes the very beautiful pieces La Mer Egee (The Aegean Sea) and Le Bosquet de Flore (Flowery Bower) of 116 and 72 bars of music respectively. That is to say that these pieces are relatively largescale compositions. The other pieces are: La Voute Verte; Le Robillard; La Solitude; and, La Feste de Vilage.
This edition comprises BOTH facsimiles of the original music in French violin clef AND modern transcription and setting into standard treble clef.
The original manuscript being written on the French violin clef which places the Treble clef on the bottom line of the stave as opposed to the second line where we are these days used to seeing it: making the music difficult or impossible for many readers to play.
I have reset the music by transcribing it and laying it out upon the page for maximum clarity. I have taken great pains not to add or subtract anything from the score so I would like to offer it as an Urtext. In this case one can, anyway, check the original.
There are 21 sheets of music included in this collection. |
